How we Did It
Football – the world’s most beloved sport – has shown particularly strong buoyancy. Jerseys worn by legends are now headline auction lots. A Pelé 1970 World Cup final shirt sold for £157,750 in a landmark sale, setting early benchmarks that encouraged future collectors to pursue match-worn and signed football gear. Meanwhile, premier club and Champions League shirts, including contemporary pieces like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo match-worn tops, regularly surpass £40,000+ at major auctions
